Calla Lilies are one of my favorite flowers. They grow so well in the west. They are thirsty, however. If they don’t get daily water on hot days, they die quickly.
They used to grow in profusion in our yard in San Diego. They were so beautiful, I would often open the front door and see a neighbor walking away with a handful for display in their home.
I too, would buy special tall vases so that I could keep the stems long. They carried a majestic look about them that makes them so regal to have in one’s home….or in a painting!
