The White Egret is the second in a series of 4 water birds I painted for my father. He requested that I paint this painting as another birthday gift, a year or two after I painted the Heron for him.
He wanted the painting to be the same size as the previous Heron painting. In addition, he wanted the water/sky line to be the same on both paintings. This is so he could hang them side by side on his wall in St. Petersburg, Florida and have the two birds facing each other with a matching horizon line.
As with the prior painting, I included several smaller secondary birds as ornamental additions to this painting.
