This amazing place is in Utah, near the Arizona border. I was coming back from a visit to Colorado to see friends. This place was on the map so we thought we would check it out. The rock formations looked like groups regal men, hence the name, “Valley of the Gods”.

They towered over the valleys in random clusters. The forces of nature that carved them must have been powerful and persistent in it’s water flow. (I’m assuming the movement of water somehow created these deities.)

It crossed my mind while driving on these dirt roads, that should my car have picked that time to quit, I would have been in trouble. There were no other cars on the road. It was before cell phones, GPS and other modern navigational tools we take for granted today. It was over 90º
