This is one of the many scenes I encounter on my walking trails in Bonita, below the Sweetwater reservoir.
In actuality, there is a large interstate that was constructed years ago, I-125 that passes in between the Bonita golfcourse (on the right side of the painting) and the mountain in the distance. I used artistic license by removing the ugly bridge overpass and imagined the view in its pre-concrete bridge state.
The other major change I made is in the fence that divides the golf course and the trail. In actuality, it is a chain link fence, which is ugly. It is also difficult to paint. I took the liberty of substituting the old wood fence that runs along most the hiking trails in the area; an aesthetic improvement in my humble opinion.
