For Ramon Garcia – A “Thank You” painting for letting us enjoy his home, family and hospitality during our visit in Mexico. This painting is from a property near Ramon’s home.
At one time, this was a working hospital. The hospital closed and a restaurant briefly opened but is now closed. Currently, it is a museum and can also be rented for special events. Ramon had his cousin’s wedding party on this estate.
I chose to paint it because of the beautiful shadows cast by the large trees outside of the open arch windows. The doorway at the end of the hall shows more light/sky/trees. In actuality, the room beyond the doorway was at one time the bedroom of the President. It is a HUGE room with 2 fireplaces. Just outside that bedroom window is a swimming pool. It is a beautiful abandoned mansion and estate.
